The Ermine Street Ceilidh Band is led by Bill Wilson & Steve Taylor who, together with other local talented musicians, provide a unique blend of Celtic and English Ceilidh Sounds with a hint of Americana. The band is based in Lincolnshire through which runs the ancient Roman Road of Ermine Street, hence the name.
After playing for a number of years in other bands, Bill & Steve decided that now was the time to form their very own Ceilidh Band. Their "toe-tapping" blend of guitar, Irish button box, fiddle, whistle and American 5 string banjo lends itself to all manner of traditional folk music and dance.
With the leadership and help from the band's expert caller, all the old time favourite dances from "Eightsome Reels", "Strip the Willow" and "Threading The Needle" are easily within the grasp of even the most novice of dancers.

We are available to play at events throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and adjoining counties and we have a high quality PA System. We are fully insured and safety tested.
1. These played at our wedding in August this year (2011) and they were fantastic, everyone commented on how energetic they were and how much fun everyone had. They couldn't have been more helpful, we wanted a certain song playing for our first dance and they arranged it so we could play it through their sound system. Will book again when our next occasion arrives. Hope to enjoy there music soon. Thanks for helping to make our day so much fun.

2. We had the Ermine Street band for a barn dance to celebrate the Royal Wedding in April 2011. We had space problems and electrical problems but the guys just took it all in their stride giving us en evening to remember - and for all the right reasons! We wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
